Our 59th birthday dance was a great success! It appears square dancers are back on the road again willing to drive miles to go to a good dance. I sure wish Jim Hattrick could have been with us to join in on the fun, but Mark Wheeler did a great job of calling to the floor as we had a few new dancers come visit us. Normally we have been only getting two squares on the floor but Friday night, Feb. 24th, we had five! Wow! So much color and movement. If only all our dances could be like this one.
We are looking forward to the visitation to the IWW in Rickreal to see our good friend George Hermann call his last dance for them. Given their proximity to Salem and northern counties I expect the will be double the number of dancers out for that one. It will seem like the good old days! Our club members who plan to attend will wear their green and white and I hope4 there will be at least one couple for every square! Our sister club the Whirl-A-Ways will field even more dancers I believe so there will be a good representation from our area. Hope to see you there!
