59th Birthday Dance A Success!

 

Our 59^th birthday dance was a great success!  It appears square dancers are back on the road again willing to drive miles to go to a good dance.  I sure wish Jim Hattrick could have been with us to join in on the  fun, but Mark Wheeler did a great job of calling to the floor as we had a few new dancers come visit us.  Normally we have been only getting two squares on the floor but Friday night, Feb. 24^th, we had five!  Wow!  So much color and movement.  If only all our dances could be like this one.

 

We are looking forward to the visitation to the IWW in Rickreal to see our good friend George Hermann call his last dance for them.  Given their proximity to Salem and northern counties I expect the will be double the number of dancers out for that one.  It will seem like the good old days!  Our club members who plan to attend will wear their green and white and I hope4 there will be at least one couple for every square!  Our sister club the Whirl-A-Ways will field even more dancers I believe so there will be a good representation from our area.  Hope to see you there!

 

 

59th Birthday Dance Feb. 24

 We are looking forward to our 59th birthday dance this coming Friday, Feb. 24, 2023.  Our caller Jim Hattrick will not be able to be with us but his sidekick Mark Wheeler will call instead.  We like Mark a lot.  He called our last October's dance for us and we enjoyed his calling as well as his participation in the Halloween theme. Jackie Gale will be cueing for us.  We hope Bill will be able to join us too!

 

 Weather looked a bit iffy at the beginning of the week, but it appears all will be well Friday night.  Hope to see many of our friends and fellow square dancers come to join us for this fun dance.  I hope to have some great photos to post this weekend.
