Hello, Single Trees members and friends,
We have had two very successful square dances in the past two months, May 14 and June 25. Each night we had two squares on the floor for plus and three squares on the floor for mainstream. People came and went but most stayed for the entire two and a half hours of dancing. We are very grateful to the callers who have been willing to travel long distances to call for us. Our dancers have been very enthusiastic, some of them traveled long distances to dance with us and we are so appreciative.
In July we had thought we would go DARK but as there is no dancing in our area if we do not have a dance, we decided to host a dance on July 16, a third Friday, not wanting to sponsor one on the 4th Friday as some dancers will be heading up to Diamond Lake for the festival there sponsored by Star Promenaders. That night Terry Halley will call and Jackie Gle will cue. Our theme will be Crazy T-Shirt/Watermelon Dance. As always casual dress is acceptable in the summer and when the temperature is hot. Our hall has excellent air conditioning and a wood floor making square and round dancing easy. We start with plus at 7:30 and mainstream from 8-10PM. We will encourage members to bring food to share and there will be coffee and tea available now that COVID protocols have been relaxed. Please come join us for a fun night of dancing. We'd love to see you there!
We will also have our club picnic complete with barbecue and potluck on Sunday, July 11, at Suzanne Peterson's country house off Seavey Loop from noon to 4PM. Email Gaynor at dancergayn@gmail.com for directions or more information.
